<p>I used to be very good at multitasking. Back in high school, I remember being able to juggle group presentations, reaction papers, exams, and choir practices all at the same time without going crazy. I only had two things to give up: my lunch break and my after-school time with friends.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s a different story thirteen years after. With all the work that I have to finish combined with the recent holiday and post-holiday events, I needed to let go of one item in my to-do list. That explains the 40-day hiatus.</p>
<p>All three of us are still busy but we feel that the (unannounced) break that we took from Design Folder is long enough. So now, we&#8217;re happy to announce that we&#8217;re squeezing DF back into our busy lives! Hehe <img src='http://mydesignfolder.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>To start our &#8216;regular programming&#8217;, we would like to share this fun and clever video from Dutch artists Kraak &amp; Smaak. Enjoy! <em><span style="color: #dd3646;">-ardel</span></em><br />

<p style="text-align: left;">We saw the lamp in Kenneth Cobonpue&#8217;s booth in CebuNext last March <em>(below)</em> but we thought it was made from some sophisticated organic fabric.</p>

<p>Yup, these pictures were taken here in Manila (Pasig to be more specific). This tree is the popular tree at the rotonda inside St. Paul Pasig where many of us used to hangout while waiting for our school bus or car. What&#8217;s interesting is that this is probably the first time that the tree bloomed this much!</p>
<p>Meet the Palawan Cherry Blossom.</p>
<p>Although it shares the same name and looks very much like the Japanese Cherry Blossom, it is not a close relative of the Japanese tree. Called <em>balayong</em> in Filipino, it is closer in association with narra, acacia, and ipil. <em>(<a href="http://pinoytrees.blogspot.com/2009/03/flower-to-nth-power.html" target="_blank">Source</a>) </em>If you&#8217;re familiar with Philippine antiques and old houses, balayong is a hardwood often used for posts, stairs, and furniture especially during the Spanish Colonial period. And just like narra, it is rarely attacked by termites.</p>
<p><a href="http://mydesignfolder.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/cherry-blossoms-03.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-8753" title="cherry-blossoms-03" src="http://mydesignfolder.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/cherry-blossoms-03.jpg" alt="palawan cherry blossoms, balayong tree" width="500" height="335" /></a></p>

<p>The other night, in a report on Kenneth Cobonpue over at <a href="http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/video/lifestyle/01/11/11/pinoy-designer-hollywood-stars-prepares-new-collection" target="_blank">Bandila</a>, I saw three of Design Folder’s pictures of the furniture designer’s pieces, which we took during our <a href="http://mydesignfolder.com/design-blog/profile-kenneth-cobonpue/" target="_blank">trip to Cebu</a> last year. YAY!</p>
<p>Unfortunately, they didn’t bother to ask for our permission before using the images nor did they credit the photos to df. Booo!</p>
<p>Ironically, in the report, Kenneth Cobonpue mentioned something about copyright and intellectual property rights. Tsk tsk, how sad. <img src='http://mydesignfolder.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif' alt=':(' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>

<p>If you&#8217;re familiar with <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Secret_(book)" target="_blank">The Secret</a>, you probably know about vision boards. A vision board is simply a collage of the things that you want to do, to be, to have, and to achieve. You can find an interesting read about the power of vision boards <a href="http://www.selfgrowth.com/articles/How_to_Use_a_Vision_Board_to_Activate_the_Law_of_Attraction.html" target="_blank">here</a>.</p>
<p>Yesterday, the three of us plus Green Guide decided to make a group vision board (above) of the things that we want to achieve for 2011. Needless to say, we aimed high and allowed ourselves to be pretty ambitious, hehe! So that each of us has a copy, we took pictures of the vision board and made it into our phone&#8217;s wallpaper! Sort of a daily reminder of our goals for ourselves and for df.</p>
<p>A vision board can also be a pretty (and inspiring) addition to a work space. Below are some samples I found:</p>
<p><a href="http://mydesignfolder.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/pinboard-01.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-7755" title="pinboard-01" src="http://mydesignfolder.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/pinboard-01.jpg" alt="vision board" width="500" height="722" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://mydesignfolder.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/pinboard-03.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-7756" title="pinboard-03" src="http://mydesignfolder.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/pinboard-03.jpg" alt="vision board" width="500" height="342" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://mydesignfolder.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/pinboard-02.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-7757" title="pinboard-02" src="http://mydesignfolder.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/pinboard-02.jpg" alt="vision board" width="500" height="712" /></a></p>
<p>This is our way of looking forward to a happy, prosperous, and productive 2011! <em><span style="color: #e5194e;">df</span></em></p>
